SOUTH RIDE TO COKE OVENS
We tried to get to the coke ovens from the South out of Florence
hoping to find an easier route. We were to the Coke ovens the
week before and the Gila river was only about a foot deep.
Unknown to us they had opened the dam up above to divert water to the
irrigation canal and now the river was running fast & about 3 feet
deep.

Ride to Oak Flat. A very pretty but difficult ride. Rode all
day, 12 miles!

Snow covered the Mountain on Sat 3/11/06. Mpls. MN had mid 40's
on Sat. Gold Canyon AZ had mid 30's.
